I disagree with Senator Ross's forecast of an economic doomsday scenario if we do not allow the US to use Shannon airport. American companies come here because of our low corporation tax and high skilled labour force. That will not change. It is simplistic to link the use of Shannon to the continued presence of American companies in Ireland. They are here because of our strategic location, skilled workforce and low tax rates.
