I join my colleague, Senator Mooney, in calling for a debate on the excesses of drink. As someone who attended the Joint Committee on Health and Children yesterday, it was very worrying to note the trend in the excesses of alcohol consumption. I would like to have the debate extended because the problem is being exacerbated by the availability of soft drugs such as cannabis and ecstasy tablets. This cocktail of drugs and drink is causing a serious problem.
