Foreign Conflicts: Motion.
Two or three countries are now acting outside the ambit of the United Nations. President Bush and Prime Minister Blair have suggested that up to 40 countries are involved in what they term the "coalition of the willing". When one looks at the list of countries, it is interesting to note the limited support of the countries of eastern Europe. While it may be described as a "coalition of the willing", it is clear that the efforts are being driven by the United States and Britain. Against the backdrop of the debates we have had in the Oireachtas and what the Taoiseach said about the desirability and necessity of a second resolution, the Minister of State has serious questions to answer about the issue of Shannon Airport.
