What is encompassed in this social dimension apart from what we know already? The European Union has always been strongly in favour of equal pay, since the time of Dr. Paddy Hillery, and has led the way on other developments such as maternity and paternity leave. If it were not for the Union, we would still be waiting for equal pay in some professions.
