Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, is providing high quality acute hospital care for the people in the area. The Minister has recently invested in the development of the hospital, including the provision of a new theatre and a stroke care unit. The hospital will continue to deliver acute public hospital services in the region and will grow with the development of health services in the region. That is the current plan.
