I am very grateful for the opportunity to make a couple of points. I draw the attention of Members to public frustration at the slow pace of infrastructural development in rural areas. That was reflected in the number of Independent Deputies returned at the last general election. One was elected in Monaghan and two in the west. Connacht is perhaps the region most isolated from the infrastructure of our cities.
