Order of Business.

Paul Coghlan (Fine Gael)
I, too, strongly support my colleague, Senator Brian Hayes, in his concerns about crime. Unfortunately, criminal communities seem to be growing and are a threat to our democracy. I would not go as far as saying there are no-go areas but certain areas are very dangerous. We might need more legislation or more gardaĆ or a combination of the two but the Government needs to address this problem. That is my question to the Leader.
With regard to Shannon Airport, we need to be more balanced. We said yesterday and everybody agreed that nobody had any difficulty whatsoever with peaceful protest. The Army is only going in as an aid to the civil power.
