Business of Seanad.

2:30 pm

Rory Kiely (Fianna Fail)

I have received notice from Senator McHugh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to address as a matter of urgency the nine day ruling regarding whitefish which is causing deep felt annoyance to the fishermen of Greencastle, County Donegal.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to make a statement concerning his plans to establish a juvenile detention centre on the green belt lands which separate Clondalkin from Tallaght.

I have also received notice from Senator Morrissey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the reasons for the delay in the occupation of the new wing of James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown; the security in place at the hospital; if such security has been discussed and agreed with the Psychiatric Nurses Association; and whether it is considered adequate to meet the needs of hospital staff.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
