Communities have accepted former patients. There was resistance in the beginning but that no longer exists because people realise former patients have been given excellent treatment. In some cases, house parents lend assistance. It is a significant change in the quality of life of a person who had a psychiatric illness to be cared for in the community with support services and treatment.
