I thank the Acting Chairman for his flexibility in allowing the debate to continue to enable as many Members as possible to contribute. I also thank the Minister and the Minister of State – whom I welcome to the Seanad – for their presence for this important debate. I thank my colleagues, and the seconder of the motion, Senator McHugh, for their contributions, which I hope will lead to an open discussion on the important matters highlighted. Whether the Minister likes it, these are the real issues.
