Death of Former Members: Expressions of Sympathy.

David Molony came from a privileged background. He did not want for anything and was given a wonderful opportunity through education. He knew his responsibilities to the poor. In the 1970s he worked towards the establishment of free legal aid centres because he believed passionately that the State had a direct responsibility to ensure that those who could not have recourse to the law because of their financial situation had access to free legal aid. David Molony, along with many other young solicitors and barristers, did Trojan work in the 1970s in establishing the free legal aid system, for which he deserves credit.
