Written Answers — Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Forestry Sector (20 Feb 2024): Charlie McConalogue: If lands are excluded from the afforestation scheme due to the presence of peat, farming activity can continue as long as that activity satisfies any legal or scheme requirements for other non forestry schemes. Exclusion from the afforestation scheme does not automatically exclude an applicant from joining another Department scheme.
