Therefore I did not directly raise the issue of the Financial Transaction Tax. However, as part of the discussion at the bilateral meeting, the Commissioner’s Chef de Cabinet mentioned that the new Financial Transaction Tax was being considered for use as an own resource, that is a revenue stream for the EU.
