Jerry Buttimer: I thank the Acting Chairman for his indulgence. There have been five Ministers for Education and Science since Ballygarvan was promised a school. What are we to tell the parents, the pupils and the teachers tonight? Is it that they will be cut back or that the Government will look after them? The choice and the solution is in the Minister's hands.

Dan Boyle: .... I hope the Opposition will take on board that announcement when it is made. There is no argument about the need for new school buildings and ancillary school infrastructure works. As Senator Buttimer is aware, I make the same argument when I experience poor standards in my own local area. There is a lack of transparency in the system. We need a system that brings that about.
