Colm Burke: There is an issue regarding trainees. Coming back to the patient, do we have a process in place for a patient who is unhappy but is afraid to ask questions? Are we satisfied we are giving enough information to patients so that they can raise concerns, if they have them, with someone independent of the care team who is appointed to look after the child?

Colm Burke: A big concern that has been raised with me by constituents over many years is that when they make a complaint to the hospital, it takes time for it to be dealt with. In some cases, people do not get answers for more than 12 or 18 months. Are we now satisfied that we have a structure that can deal with a complaint in a timely manner?
