Kevin Humphreys: I campaigned against that proposal. The lies articulated during that referendum were despicable and it was the forerunner of what we have seen with Trump in the United States. There was no evidence to show that thousands, or even hundreds, of immigrants waiting to run to Holles Street Hospital to have their child so that they might become citizens of Ireland.
