Employment Equality (Amendment) Bill 2015: Second Stage (Resumed) [Private Members] (17 Jun 2015)

Áine Collins: I welcome the opportunity to address this issue and I thank the Deputies opposite for raising it. The issue of LGBT rights in this country has consumed Ireland in the past few years and with good reason. Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 88 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: Restructuring the Administration of Student Grants (11 Jun 2015)

Áine Collins: We all know that since third level education grants were introduced, there is always a peak in September. I would have thought that would have been part of the initial forecasting and planning process. I do not accept Ms. Stewart's point. The timing should have indicated that the costs have doubled or even trebled in some cases.
