Are some of them deemed to be salary or to be bonuses? Is it known how they are being treated and why? If they were deemed to be bonuses, is there a sample as to what such bonuses were related?

Vote 39 - Health Service Executive
(27 Nov 2013)

Electricity Infrastructure: Motion [Private Members] (3 Dec 2013)

Áine Collins: I welcome the opportunity to speak on this motion. As a nation, we import 90% of our energy. We are at the very end of the supply chain in Europe. Russia, to a large extent, controls the natural gas supply to Europe, and we have seen the problems this control is causing in Belarus. While there is still a possibility of gas and oil discovery around our coasts, any finds would, at most,...

Áine Collins: I welcome Mr. Clune and Mr. McLoughlin. I do not really have any questions, save to say it is a fantastic idea. I congratulate the witnesses. I wish we had more people like them in Ireland. The positive message that comes from this is fantastic. It is a great idea to work with some of the communities. We have serious issues in Ireland with philanthropy, where it is going and where new...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Science Foundation Ireland: Discussion with Chairperson Designate (3 Dec 2013)

Áine Collins: Ms Riordan and her colleagues are very welcome. I am most encouraged from what I have heard from her. The experience she outlined is fantastic. I thank her for taking up the position. Science, research and innovation, commercialisation, entrepreneurship and building companies is what we must focus on if we are to solve the unemployment problem. We need strong leadership. We need people...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Science Foundation Ireland: Discussion with Chairperson Designate (3 Dec 2013)

Áine Collins: Everyone else in Europe is doing it. I am not talking about not for profit organisations per se. I am talking about people who are into research and innovation coming together with big multinational companies, small companies and PhD students but instead of it being in a university environment, it is outside of that framework. They set up a way of doing that on a statutory basis to handle...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Science Foundation Ireland: Discussion with Chairperson Designate (3 Dec 2013)
