Economic Regulation. (21 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: Given that the Taoiseach will visit Cork later this week, I hope he will announce some good news for the city and that he will honour the commitments given in respect of Cork Airport before the last election. If he can spare a minute or two or a few hours, he might visit west Cork and see what we need there. Maybe I might get a chance to introduce him to his palatial home down there or to...

Legislative Programme. (22 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: What will the proposed Bill do to increase the total area classified as woodland or to achieve the Government target of 17% cover by 2030? Will it change the obligation on replanting, which is perceived as one of the biggest obstacles to increasing forest cover in the private sector? Will it have any implications for COFORD?

Legislative Programme. (22 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: The Minister of State is not grasping the nettle. Yesterday, the Minister of State, Deputy Wallace, launched a study on forest planting levels. I am shocked that the Government has proposed yet another delaying tactic in terms of a consultancy report. I will quote from the press release she issued seeking this consultancy report.

Legislative Programme. (22 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: The press release stated, "Mary Wallace T.D., Minister of State with responsibility for forestry matters at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food today announced the appointment of Mr. John Malone to undertake a study on the factors affecting the rate of afforestation in Ireland". European Council Meetings. (22 Nov 2007)

Anyone who drinks in this country or anywhere in the world is aware of alcohol content because it is printed on the label of every bottle sold. Any wine with an alcohol content of...

Official Engagements. (27 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: Last weekend the Taoiseach paid a visit to his paternal city, Cork, but failed to make it to his maternal constituency, Cork South-West. When he comes back to Dublin, he is a real Dub.

Official Engagements. (27 Nov 2007)

P J Sheehan: While he was in Cork, did the Taoiseach have any good tidings for the city? Did he meet the Cork Chamber of Commerce to discuss the exorbitant debt hanging over Cork Airport? Did he discuss the resumption of the Cork-Swansea ferry? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel on both these matters? The future prosperity of the Cork South-West constituency lies with Cork Airport being...
