P J Sheehan: In my capacity as a Member of this House for 21 years, I was responsible for the building of 19 piers in south-west Cork.

P J Sheehan: Darby's Point was the 20th pier. It is in Achill Island and its building resulted in Deputy Michael Ring winning a seat in Dáil Éireann in a 1994 by-election. Since that time, nothing has been done for the area and it has been completely neglected.
