Dinny McGinley: I can vividly recall that terrible tragedy in October 1981 when the Skifjord was lost with the loss of five lives. It was the third such tragedy off the Donegal coast during the 1970s and early 1980s. Two of those who were lost were from the same family, Francis Byrne and his young son Jimmy, who was 16 years old. Three others were also lost - Des McGovern, Jimmy Lafferty and Tony O'Brien....
