John McGuinness: The solicitor for Rehab contacted the parliamentary legal adviser. They had a discussion, arising from which the legal adviser reminded us of our remit and other matters. The clerk circulated that to every member of the committee. That is about the size of it.

The fact of the matter is that we received a phone call from the legal adviser to Rehab, who had a conversation with the legal adviser here in the House, who in turn sent an e-mail to the clerk, who in turn sent a copy of it to each member of the committee.
