- Electoral (Amendment) (Political Funding) Bill 2011 [Seanad]: Second Stage (Resumed) (9 May 2012)
Mattie McGrath: I am talking about that. I told the House it is approximately â¬41,000, but I am not sure of the exact figure. However, the political parties get â¬5 million, apart from the 19 Independent Members. That is on top of the ordinary staff and the â¬126,000 per Member for Fine Gael, the Labour Party, Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin. The Government parties get less now that they are in Government.
- Electoral (Amendment) (Political Funding) Bill 2011 [Seanad]: Second Stage (Resumed) (9 May 2012)

However, it is there. It is shambolic to have such a con job. We are being told we have â¬41,000, which we have, but we have sought some back-up staff. I went back and forward to Ministers and the Ceann Comhairle on this...
