There are a lot of storage projects happening at the moment, including one between Tyrrellspass and Rochfortbridge which involves installing a battery to store electricity produced when it is windy for redistribution when it is calm. Is that infrastructure part of the brief of ESB Networks?

Paul Daly: It is all about trade and not about the movement of animals per se. This regulation would not apply in the case of a trip for a day, a week or a fortnight and it was a dog or a cat going with a family on a journey that was inter-state in Europe in such a short-term capacity. There is nothing in here to change how that happens now.

Paul Daly: It cannot all be dairy-beef. There will be a dairy calf. Sexed semen is progress but it is not going to take over. I was talking more about the male dairy-bred calf, which we will have to have. It cannot all be beef-bred.
