- Leaders' Questions (18 Jan 2017)
Noel Grealish: I thank the Taoiseach for his reply. I know consultants have been appointed to look at the Parkmore Road infrastructure in particular but what they are proposing involves just tweaking the traffic lights on the Monivea Road. That will not solve the problem. I put a proposal to Galway City Council and Galway County Council that involves using Galway Airport for a park and ride facility to...
- Leaders' Questions (18 Jan 2017)
Noel Grealish: The good news from Galway is that unemployment levels are dropping and more people are returning to work, as is the case in most parts of the country. The bad news for Galway is that this also means more cars on the road and that a city that is famous worldwide for all sorts of good reasons is becoming known more and more for its appalling traffic problems. The Galway city outer bypass...

Practically not a week goes by in Galway but there is some comment on the radio or...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Sustaining Viable Rural Communities: Discussion (Resumed) (18 Jan 2017)
Noel Grealish: The then Minister, Mr. John Gormley, designated limestone pavement at the route at that time. Senator Ó Clochartaigh might confirm if I am correct. That knocked it, which was a blatant abuse of ministerial power by a Minister. That is my view.

Noel Grealish: What consultation, including the National Parks and Wildlife Service, has taken place on the current project? That is important as well. Are there any obstacles that will pop up? There is another €6 million or €7 million spent already.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Sustaining Viable Rural Communities: Discussion (Resumed) (18 Jan 2017)
Noel Grealish: I thank Mr. Fitzgerald. How many meetings has the Department had with Arup on the current project? Galway is a special area of conservation, SAC, and there are many areas designated as SACs when one goes from one end of the city to the other. I would be very disappointed and shocked to learn that there had been only one meeting.
