- Seanad: Water Quality: Motion (19 Apr 2021)
Aisling Dolan: I welcome the Minister of State and I thank Senator Garvey for tabling a fantastic motion regarding our access to clean water and to sanitation. As she pointed out, this is a United Nations sustainable development goal. I support the motion, which is part of the programme for Government. It is important that we protect water from sea to source. I understand €8.5 billion has been...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Children and Youth Affairs: General Scheme of a Certain Institutional Burials (Authorised Interventions) Bill: Discussion (14 Apr 2021)
Aisling Dolan: I wish to acknowledge the survivors who have come in to speak to us today. I have listened to those experiences. I know the Tuam area in particular as I come from Galway. I previously met Peter Mulryan. I would like to offer him some of the time allocated to me if he would like to contribute again. He has spoken very deeply about his mother and his sister and even the impact on his own...

Aisling Dolan: I thank Ms Mannion, Ms McGrath and the other officials from the Department of Education, NEPS and the NESC for attending. Aisling Dolan: I note to Ms Tansey that I acknowledge the importance of career guidance counsellors. I am on the Sub-Committee on Mental Health as well and they are crucial. My query to Ms McGrath was about whether SENO visits need to take place over the next couple of months. If the allocation remains the same from September, is it necessary, with public health guidelines etc., and could we reduce contact?

- Seanad: Covid-19 Vaccination Programme: Statements (29 Mar 2021)
Aisling Dolan: I thank the Minister for the short time I will get today. I will make three points, however. First, I welcome that the notice GPs are given about the vaccines they receive has gone from one day to two days. I know from speaking to a local GP that the number was down by 120 this week. I ask for confirmation on that. We know a big surge is coming in the last two days of March. Is it the...

Aisling Dolan: I welcome the Minister. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to speak in this debate. We are very fortunate to have in the Minister such a strong advocate for Ireland in the EU. Officials and staff in his Department have demonstrated clearly the negative impact on Ireland of the withdrawal of the UK from the EU, as evidenced by Ireland winning over €1 billion of a €5...
- Seanad: An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business (26 Mar 2021)
Aisling Dolan: I raise today the issue of emergency accommodation for St. Teresa's Special School in Ballinasloe. There are only 115 or so special schools across the country. The challenge here is linked to an issue I have raised already in the House, an issue regarding Scoil an Chroí Naofa, the only DEIS band 1 school in Ballinasloe. It has no capacity to take on another special needs class so St....
- Seanad: An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business (22 Mar 2021)
Aisling Dolan: I am delighted today with the announcement from the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Deputy Humphreys, about the outdoor recreational infrastructure programme. It is worth €6 million. It is wonderful because there is €500,000 for Mote Park in Roscommon. This shows the commitment to regional development, which is crucial. We are currently in lockdown, but we must...

Aisling Dolan: I welcome the Minister of State here today and wish everyone Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona. I almost forgot that St. Patrick's Day will be next week. I support this Personal Insolvency (Amendment) Bill and the amendments. As the Minister of State mentioned, it is a priority Bill to reform the Personal Insolvency Act 2012 and the Personal Insolvency (Amendment) Act 2015 to support...

Aisling Dolan: I welcome the Minister. It is great to see this Bill before us and I am delighted to support it. What we are looking at here is increasing the duration of parents' leave from two to five weeks' paid leave for parents of children under the age of one. It shows the Government's support to young families. I also welcome the support for same-sex couples to avail of adoptive leave. The...
