Ruth Coppinger: That is what all the doctors said when they appeared before the committee. It might seem like a minor thing but it can lead to kidney and other problems. That is the point. To separate health into degrees and gradients of seriousness is not right. I am in a dilemma as to what to do. This is an important amendment but we are in a dilemma because this was argued among the general public....

Ruth Coppinger: I had meant to table an amendment on this so I am interested to see what the Minister comes up with and can look at it on Report Stage. The Southern Taskgroup on Abortion and Reproductive Topics, START, in the south west and Doctors for Choice are at pains to say it would make life extremely difficult, between rostering, locums and so on. It is critical that we come up with something on this.

Ruth Coppinger: I ask that members who have tabled amendments which refer to DVDs and so on bring the DVDs to tomorrow's meeting in order to allow the committee to familiarise itself with the DVDs.

Ruth Coppinger: Some amendments refer to DVDs. It would be of benefit for the members who have tabled those amendments to produce the DVDs in order to allow the committee to consider them before decidING on the amendments. It is okay; do not worry about it. I will explain it later.
