I do not refer specifically to Mr. Griffin but the bureaucracy of the State has become so accustomed to the practice of not answering parliamentary questions that it has forgotten how to use custom and practice to answer them.

John McGuinness: Is it not essential for the Department to know that so that, on either Bobby Kerr’s business group or the financial group Mr. Griffin spoke about, it would know just how much the post office itself was putting into its infrastructure? If it is not doing so, it is not showing much of a commitment to the 1,139 post offices.
