- Institutional Burials Bill 2022: Report and Final Stages (15 Jun 2022)
Kathleen Funchion: I move amendment No. 17: In page 16, line 7, to delete “at the time of such burial,”. These amendments are linked. The rationale is the same. - Institutional Burials Bill 2022: Report and Final Stages (15 Jun 2022)
Kathleen Funchion: I am going to speak to amendment No. 45 because it is also in this grouping. - Institutional Burials Bill 2022: Report and Final Stages (15 Jun 2022)
Kathleen Funchion: I welcome that. I remember that discussion during pre-legislative scrutiny. Particularly when one is sitting on this side of the House, it seems so simple to make one or two small changes that are really significant. That was one of those areas. It is really welcome and I am glad the amendments are being made. I thank the Minister.

I am glad it was taken on board. It was important.

- Institutional Burials Bill 2022: Report and Final Stages (15 Jun 2022)
Kathleen Funchion: I welcome this. It is a good, positive step. I see where Deputy Canney is coming from. Is there a way, if not in the legislation, to cover that in the guidelines? Science is always advancing. Could some reference be made to it in the guidelines even if it cannot be put in the legislation? It is good to see it being expanded. I see both sides of the argument. They say that one has less...
