If Dunnes or Tesco put on offers they must do so throughout the country and they must be fair, and not just target the people they want to put out of business. Rural Ireland will have no rural schools, Garda stations or shops and if the planners get their way we will have...

Competition (Amendment) Bill 2005 [Seanad]: Second Stage (Resumed). (1 Feb 2006)

How many people have been prosecuted for overcharging, below-cost selling or failing to have...

Competition (Amendment) Bill 2005 [Seanad]: Second Stage (Resumed). (1 Feb 2006)

Its attitude is "to hell with the small man or woman". God help the Fianna Fáil Deputies because there are more small men and women in this country than big business people.

Michael Ring: I hope the Land Registry Office will soon be located in Roscommon, which has been promised for many years. My late father told me that during every election campaign — Deputy Brady will be glad to hear this — Fianna Fáil would always promise the people of Ballina that the biscuit factory would be located there.

Registration of Deeds and Title Bill 2004 [Seanad]: Second Stage (Resumed). (31 Jan 2006)

Michael Ring: We got the biscuits but we never got the factory. Similarly, the Land Registry has been coming to Roscommon for a long time.
