Jerry Buttimer: Accepting that progress has been made and the issue has been tackled, it is bizarre, as Senator Colm Burke rightly said, that some of our brightest and best are travelling to the four corners of the world and will not stay here and that, anecdotally, some hospitals are finding it difficult to recruit people in some specialties.
