Kieran O'Donnell: The point I am trying to make is about the correlation. When we see GDP growth, we assume there is a direct correlation to growth in employment, wages and income tax. Contract manufacturing takes place outside Ireland. Is it logical for it to be included in our GDP?

Kieran O'Donnell: With contract manufacturing, the likelihood is that the taxes on those earnings are being assessed in the country where the manufacturing process is taking place. Does the CSO look at it in any way that those contract-manufacturing sales or profits have to be assessed for taxes in Ireland?
