- Flood Prevention Policies: Motion [Private Members] (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: I welcome the opportunity to speak on this. I come from Galway city and represent the city and the county. The Minister of State, Deputy Rabbitte, who is present, is well aware of the problems in Galway. The latest one was in Clifden in early September when the Owenglen river surged unexpectedly and severely. It caused severe flooding damage. The rain was unexpected and the flooding was...

Catherine Connolly: I call on Deputy Thomas Gould.
- Flood Prevention Policies: Motion [Private Members] (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: I thank the Minister. Are copies of his contribution available?
- Flood Prevention Policies: Motion [Private Members] (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: We can check that because it is handy to have a copy for everyone. It is usually circulated.
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Gabh mo leithscéal, a Chathaoirligh, ach an mbaineann an caidreamh sin leis an Aire Stáit leis an mBille?
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Tá sé ceart chuile rud a chur as an áireamh nuair atá Bille os ár gcomhair. Ní bheidh muid in ann déileáil leis an mBille agus rudaí eile idir lámha againn. Ba chóir é sin a eagrú ar an lá seo agus déileáil leis an mBille. Sin an rud is práinní. Ní thuigim cén fáth go bhfuil moill ann....
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Tuigim anois.
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Ón gcruinniú deireanach, cheap mise nach raibh ach botún beag i gceist agus gur seoladh an Bille chuig an choiste mícheart ach anois tá sé beagáinín níos-----
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Tuigim.
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Cén fáth?
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Ní féidir glacadh leis sin. Tá sé ráite go mion minic, ní hamháin go mbeidh an Bille foilsithe, ach go mbeidh an tAcht i réim roimh an Nollaig. Is dócha gur an Nollaig seo chugainn atá i gceist?
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Gnó an Chomhchoiste (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Tuigim ach ní féidir leis an gCathaoirleach nó le aon chomhalta dul amach agus a mhíniú cén fáth nach bhfuil an Bille os ár gcomhair. Sin an fhadhb atá agamsa.
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Maoiniú na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta agus Bille na dTeangacha Oifigiúla (Leasú) 2019: Conradh na Gaeilge (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Cuirim fáilte roimh na finnéithe agus gabhaim buíochas le Paula Melvin as ucht a muinín sa choiste seo ar son na Gaeilge. Is mór an onóir agus an fhreagracht é sin i bhfianaise cé chomh leochaileach atá an teanga. Fuair Foras na Gaeilge níos mó airgid i mbliana. Is rud dearfach é sin agus tréaslaím leis na...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Maoiniú na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta agus Bille na dTeangacha Oifigiúla (Leasú) 2019: Conradh na Gaeilge (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Gabhaim buíochas leis na finnéithe as ucht a gcuid oibre. Tá obair na gcapall déanta acu le fada an lá. Bhí na finnéithe os comhair an choiste seo go minic. Ní féidir leis an gcoiste seo feidhmiú gan tacaíocht ó Chonradh na Gaeilge agus ó na heagraíochtaí eile a tháinig os ár gcomhair. Ní saineolaithe...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Maoiniú na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta agus Bille na dTeangacha Oifigiúla (Leasú) 2019: Conradh na Gaeilge (4 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: Chuir mé ceist maidir leis an spriocdháta 2030. An bhfuil Julian de Spáinn sásta leis sin? Is dul chun cinn é go bhfuil spriocdháta ann mar ní raibh aon cheann ann roimhe seo ach is an rud is baolaí ná gur féidir leis an Aire é a chur siar níos faide. Tá dhá cheist sa cheist sin.

- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: National Children's Hospital (3 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: We have time limits and other Deputies are waiting. I have no knowledge of this question, but the Deputy has indicated that he talked to the Minister about it.
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: National Children's Hospital (3 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: I pointed that out. The Deputy stood up earlier and said he had indicated to the Minister that he was raising a second matter. The Minister did not object at that stage. I had no knowledge of that. Now he is raising again under a second question. It is entirely up to the Minister.
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: National Children's Hospital (3 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: A question has been asked and we have run out of time.
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: National Children's Hospital (3 Nov 2020)
Catherine Connolly: The Minister can revert in writing. I am leaving it at that in fairness to other Deputies present.
