- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: School Bullying and the Impact on Mental Health: Discussion (Resumed) (15 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: I thank the Chairman. I thank the witnesses for presenting to us today and for taking time out from their busy schedules to discuss this really important issue. I will not repeat what other members have said. I will keep it really short. I was really struck by what Professor O'Higgins Norman said about image and how research has shown a lot of children get bullied because of image. Is...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: School Bullying and the Impact on Mental Health: Discussion (Resumed) (15 Jun 2021)

- Joint Oireachtas Committee On Key Issues Affecting The Traveller Community: Traveller Accommodation: Discussion (Resumed) (15 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: Today, physically and mentally I was not able to chair this meeting. Reading the report when it first came out brought me right back to Carrickmines and brought me back to my childhood. I am now a 31-year-old mother. I can only speak of the experience of the halting site where I was born and reared. That halting site opened in 1967. At the moment, its redevelopment is not even being...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee On Key Issues Affecting The Traveller Community: Traveller Accommodation: Discussion (Resumed) (15 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: I again thank Dr. Muldoon and Ms Ward for this outstanding report, No End in Site. It is to be hoped that the future will look bright for Traveller children and we will not have to see other generations of children growing up in dire accommodation. I, too, am of the mindset that every recommendation is important. As I said, it is not about recreating the wheel. Many of the answers are in...

- Seanad: Employment Equality (Amendment) (Non-Disclosure Agreements) Bill 2021: Second Stage (14 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: I apologise for the earlier episode. Today, we are part of history. I thank Senator Ruane and her office for all the hard work she has done on this Bill to date. Before I ever had the opportunity to come to this House, Senator Ruane has been a great role model to young women like myself. I thank her and her office from the bottom of my heart for bringing this legislation forward today....

- Joint Oireachtas Committee On Key Issues Affecting The Traveller Community: Traveller Accommodation: Discussion (1 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: I thank Ms Kelly for her presentation. It is always so hard to hear the inequalities that Traveller women and children, and the community as a whole, still face in 21st century Ireland. It is a remarkable day. Accommodation has been an issue over the past week and it is important we keep bringing attention to it.

Eileen Flynn: For the information of the Senator, between 2008 and 2019 local authorities underspent by more than €72 million. As Ms Maughan said, it is this committee, this kind of work and people like him that will, we hope, bring about the positive changes for our community as a whole. I call Deputy Ellis to make his comments. Again, as soon as he has finished speaking, the floor will be...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee On Key Issues Affecting The Traveller Community: Traveller Accommodation: Discussion (1 Jun 2021)
Eileen Flynn: I agree 100% with everything that has been said. I will provide a note of information for people. In our next public meeting, we will have the Ombudsman for Children in to discuss the report. That will be a tough report for us to listen to. As Mr. Collins said, it is the case even today even for those reared in other halting sites. It is no different for Travellers in the likes of Labre...
