- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Basic Payment Scheme and GLAS: Discussion (14 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: We must recognise that when agreement was reached on the regulation in June 2013, we had the EU Presidency and the Department was party to agreeing this minimum activity clause. That was two years ago. The Department was aware of it and, presumably, since it was in the driving seat, it did not agree to something without thinking through its implications. Have there been discussions about...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: Tá an plé seo thar a bheith tábhachtach agus thar a bheith spéisiúil ach caithim a rá go gcuireann sé imní orm. Nuair a foilsíodh an Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge, caithfear cuimhneamh gur straitéis réalaíoch a bhí i gceist. Bhí ionchur i ngach ghné den straitéis a bhain leis an Roinn Oideachais agus...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: Tá mé beagnach réidh. Tá mé tar éis iarracht a dhéanamh a bheith chomh gonta agus is féidir liom agus tá go leor ceist eile a mhaith liom a chur. An gcuideoidh sé nó an mbeadh an Roinn sásta an freastal céanna a dhéanamh ó thaobh múinteoirí de a dhéanamh do na gasúir a théann ar an nGaelscoil...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: We are wasting time - I asked that question of COGG, not Dr. Gaynor.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: There seems to be a problem with the translation. I was talking about one fifth of the period of the implementation of the strategy. It is important that we get answer to questions that we asked-----
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: No wonder we do not use the Irish translation service.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: Bíonn siad líofa lofa.

Éamon Ó Cuív: An cheart go mbeadh english teaching professional, ETP, faoi leith ann do scoileanna Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: An cheart nó ní cheart? An aontaíonn tú?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: For the record of the House, it is my understanding that that is an incorrect statement. That is not the basis to exclude someone from a Gaelscoil. In some cases, a parent might not even have English; the parents might not even be Irish. A parent's language or lack of Irish was never a reason for excluding anyone from a Gaelscoil.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: It is important that that is corrected on the record of the House because Deputy Byrne's statement is factually incorrect.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection: Irish Language Education: Discussion (1 Apr 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: I wish to have it on the record that my view is that if parents make the effort to have Irish as the home language that it would be a total denial of their children's rights if they were not to get their education in the language of the home when that is one of the official languages.

- Residential Mortgage Interest Rates: Motion [Private Members] (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: I mean mortgage interest supplement. It was specifically mentioned in the four-year plan because it put it in there. I have followed this issue over the years. I have worked with people who are working with people in mortgage difficulties. A large number of them are in difficulties simply because at a time when the banks are getting money at historically low interest rates - they are...
- Residential Mortgage Interest Rates: Motion [Private Members] (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: Tá áthas orm go bhfuil deis agam cúpla focal a rá faoin ábhar seo mar is ábhar an-tábhachtach é agus ar ndóigh goileann sé ar go leor gnáthdhaoine i measc an phobail. A person who happened to be of the wrong age and needed a house during the last decade when house prices were inflated had no choice but to pay whatever was being asked in...
- Residential Mortgage Interest Rates: Motion [Private Members] (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: -----highlighting of this issue. Could this Government have done anything about this? The Government's policy, for a reason that I cannot get my head around, is to sell off all the assets it owns as quickly as it can through NAMA to the IBRC, irrespective of the price. For some strange reason it is hell bent on getting rid of the State's valuable AIB shares, which if held onto long enough...
- Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: A Cheann Comhairle, in view of the misinformation given by the Taoiseach last week, could you advise me of how a Deputy can ensure factually incorrect information that is given by a member of the Government on the record of the House is corrected on the record of the House?
- Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: There is a major problem with this Government and the Taoiseach giving out factually incorrect information.
- Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)
Éamon Ó Cuív: When previous Governments realised that factually incorrect information had been placed on the record, they corrected it. Will you, a Cheann Comhairle, meet me in your office to advise me how we can ensure-----
