Aengus Ó Snodaigh: My other question relates to the Taxi Regulation Act. Are there proposals to take account of the problems currently facing the industry and the need for changes in the function and remit of the regulator?

Aengus Ó Snodaigh: Legislation must take account of the need for a change in terms of VRT exemption for new taxis. There has been a change in regard to the nine-year rule but wheelchair accessible taxis can be ten years old, which means disabled passengers will be put at risk.
