Do the agencies pay more than the HSE? Is it that people who have retired return as agency staff because the hours or whatever suit them better? I am puzzled by the fact that agencies can hire personnel yet the HSE cannot do so where there is a 4:1 deficit.

The figure has increased by nearly 45% from €76 million to €110 million. Why was there a significant increase in just one year? The sum increased by €34 million in one year, which is major money.
