Jerry Buttimer: We have had correspondence with and I have met a gentleman from Cork, Mr. Jim O'Connell, who has carried out a great deal of work on the issue. He has lobbied the committee regarding the excessive use of methadone. Professor Barry might comment on his surveys.

Jerry Buttimer: Professor Barry said in his presentation that minimum pricing would lessen health inequalities, yet some would argue, and have argued on this committee, that the introduction of minimum pricing would affect, more than anyone else, the most lowly paid, the unemployed and those depending on State aid.
