Brian Lenihan Jnr: I can inform the Deputy that my Department has recently received the High Court warrant which allows for the transfer of this individual into this country and the continued enforcement of his prison sentence under the Transfer of Sentenced Persons legislation. I have been assured that this transfer will be effected as soon as is practically possible.

A Garda investigation file relating to the proceeds of the Northern Bank robbery has been submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and directions are awaited thereon. As the DPP is independent in the exercise of his functions, it would not be appropriate to comment further.
