Brendan Smith: Previously in REPS it was open to the successors of deceased participants to apply to join the Scheme in their own right. I am aware that with the closure of the Scheme this option is no longer available. Therefore I have asked my officials to draw up guidelines to allow for successors to take over the undertakings of deceased participants and these arrangements will be introduced shortly.
