Róisín Shortall: If we had a big bang in terms of a move to a totally public system, that would be a different matter, but in terms of a transition to a new type of system, there are GPs who want to continue in private practice, single-handed or group practice, and employ practice nurses. Would Mr. Mathews envisage their being able to continue to do so in a transitionary phase?
