- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children: Challenges facing Camphill Communities of Ireland: Discussion (12 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: My concern is the threat, in terms of the potential closure of the service, which will deprive families like Miriam's. This puts them in a precarious and vulnerable position as they cannot access a service. Is the HSE, at the higher level, aware of the implications of not engaging or of the likelihood that Camphill will not be able to provide a service?

- Hospital Emergency Departments: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (11 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Kathleen Lynch, and compliment her on the work she is doing to reform the mental health system and the area of disabilities. The Government is fixing the health service. It is extraordinary and a bit of a groundhog day when one reads the motion from the Members opposite. - Children First Bill 2015: From the Seanad (11 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: Cuirim fáilte roimh an Aire agus, go mórmhór, roimh an mBille seo. In accepting the Minister's remarks on reasonable chastisement, it is important to acknowledge that it is a positive amendment and to commend Senator van Turnhout and the Minister on it. We were out of step with Europe and had that look of austerity about us in the context of what the Council of Europe...

Jerry Buttimer: It is important to recognise that the business case is compliant with the public spending code. I welcome the fact from the Minister's speech that there is nothing to be unduly worried about. I just hope we can expedite the process quickly, because this is a successful venture not only for Cork city and county but also for the country. When it is completed, Páirc Uí Chaoimh will...

Jerry Buttimer: I thank the Ceann Comhairle for allowing me to raise this matter on a very emotional and significant day. All politics is local; that is why I am here. On the day we signed the commencement order of the marriage equality Act, I raise the issue of the need for clarity to be provided on the funding for the redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork. The Government has a very...
