Jerry Buttimer: 478. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she is aware that staff, students, parents and friends at Mount Mercy College, Model Farm Road, Cork have been fundraising to build a sports hall, but this project will only be possible if she provides funding for it; if she will provide the necessary funding to facilitate the construction of a much-needed sports hall at the school; and if...

- Housing and Homelessness: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (18 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: The graph does not lie. The people on the housing list in Cork deserve better than to see moneys available being returned to central government. They deserve better than seeing the moneys not being used.
- Housing and Homelessness: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (18 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: The Government has taken steps to end the housing crisis across the country. In the next six years, 35,000 units will be built through an investment of €3.8 billion. This year alone, some 7,400 units of social housing will be provided. These are all welcome developments. In the time allocated to me, I will focus on an issue I have raised before in the House. I have been in contact...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children: Child and Infant Mental Health: Discussion (12 Nov 2015)
Jerry Buttimer: At one level, Deputy Ó Caoláin's point was probably the most apt one we have heard this morning and he is right. Anyone who wishes to get married in a particular church has to do a pre-marriage course. However, as far as I am aware, there is no stipulation for a couple to go to pre-parenting classes. Deputy Ó Caoláin made a good point. Sometimes when people are...
