Kevin Moran: I am advised by the Office of Public Works that that office has no responsibility for the maintenance of the barrage on the River Fergus at Clarecastle, County Clare. Responsibility for the barrage rests with Clare County Council as part of the Fergus Drainage District. The Council has advised that it has carried out maintenance works in recent years on the sluice doors on the barrage.
