Paul Murphy: On pay levels at the top of the AIB, I note that while they are within the Government's pay cap, they are set at its outer limit. Is it justified to pay staff almost €500,000?

Paul Murphy: Yesterday, I spoke to a worker in a bank branch in Dublin who said his job was outsourced. Basically, he said he had the choice of going over to the company in question, Noonan's, or redundancy. He had no choice of redeployment within AIB.

Paul Murphy: Mr. Duffy did not answer fully Question No. 24, which asked whether if the Central Bank's proposed new mortgage deposit and loan to earnings ratio were in place, what percentage of AIB's existing mortgage holders would have qualified for their loans. I presume a relatively large percentage would not have qualified, although I accept it is difficult to give a precise figure.
