Mary Seery Kearney: We need to acknowledge that a year longer will be too long for families, in such cases as where a woman cannot sign a consent form and she cannot sign anything to do with a child. Any more kicking this down the road and carving it out is just giving an excuse for what is prohibition by a failure to legislate. This will be a failure to the children of our State.
