- Foreshore and Dumping at Sea (Amendment) Bill 2009 [Seanad]: Second Stage (3 Dec 2009)
Tom Sheahan: Every time we are here for Question Time I have the same questions for the Minister of State. No progress is being made regarding aquaculture licences, the seafood operational programme and so on. I had thought this Bill might expedite progress in these areas, but I am afraid it will not. I am wary of it. The Departments of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Environment, Heritage and...
- Foreshore and Dumping at Sea (Amendment) Bill 2009 [Seanad]: Second Stage (3 Dec 2009)
Tom Sheahan: I might take the scenic route but I will make my point. - Order of Business (2 Dec 2009)
Tom Sheahan: I am sorry, but in April this year the Minister for Finance promised he would look at section 35(12)(a) of the Credit Unions Act. As it stands now, credit unions cannot extend loans and are driving people to illegal and unlicensed money lenders. I do not believe this is where we want people to go three weeks before Christmas.

[43827/09]
- Fisheries Development. (26 Nov 2009)
Tom Sheahan: The Minister of State said there are no time restrictions. Is there any hope of getting an approximate date or any indication of when this will be finalised? It is almost December 2009 and this programme runs from 2007 to 2013. What EU funding or co-funding has been lost due to the fact we do not have an operational programme in place? The Minister of State said he received â¬1 million in...
- Fisheries Development. (26 Nov 2009)
Tom Sheahan: I am not satisfied. Up to â¬10 million per annum in funding is being lost which could be drawn down if an operational programme for fisheries was in place. Jobs are also being lost. Is that not the case?
