Alan Kelly: It is a whole different animal.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (26 Oct 2017)

Alan Kelly: My rationale is that information I have sought regarding Tipperary Education and Training Board from the Department in parliamentary questions over the past month has not been provided. I have been engaging with the Secretary General of the Department to get better answers because many of them were not acceptable. My first request for information related to multiple issues, including the...

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (26 Oct 2017)

Alan Kelly: That is the issue I was about to raise. Basically, the non-pay side of the ETBI is funded through contributions from the individual ETBs.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (26 Oct 2017)

Alan Kelly: That means the ETBs must provide funding to make that happen. On the basis of what the Comptroller and Auditor General said, it is up to the committee as to how it responds to my second request. The Department will probably be able to answer questions on ETBI but I insist that we bring in representatives of Tipperary Education and Training Board.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (26 Oct 2017)

Alan Kelly: I fully agree that we need to do this. We have agreed it already. We need to set the criteria or the question of the areas we will examine. Before we do that, we probably need to see the legal advice. We are not here next week, but early in the week we return, we will set a date for a short briefing here on legal advice. We will take the legal advice on the Tuesday and have the normal...

Public Accounts Committee: Deloitte Report on Cost of Care in Grace Case (26 Oct 2017)

Alan Kelly: Our meeting today will have two parts. The principal reason for this meeting is the examination of chapter 19 of the Comptroller and Auditor General's report 2016, management and oversight of grants to health agencies. The committee agreed in private session on Tuesday to allow an hour today for questions regarding a matter discussed with the HSE previously. A HSE-commissioned report has...
