In response to Deputy Ó Snodaigh, the Business Committee agreed to schedule eight and a half hours of this week's sitting for the Finance Bill. We recognised his concerns at the Business Committee that if it was not enough, that the Business Committee would have a special sitting...

We have been kindly granted the extra two hour sittings on Wednesday and Thursday mornings to facilitate the passage of the Finance Bill this week, and if more people are looking to speak than there is time, we will sit again and make sure we add extra time. - Order of Business (18 Oct 2016)

I said that it would be referred to the committee for debate, which is exactly what the proposal is today. In response to Deputy Martin, his party's member of the committee did not raise the subject Deputy Martin has just raised.
- Order of Business (18 Oct 2016)
Regina Doherty: Fianna Fáil did ask for extra time and we agreed on the extra time. The Deputy did not have to forego Private Members' time, and the committee did not make any decision to forego any party's Private Members' time, which is why we are discussing having the debate between 10 p.m. and midnight.
- Order of Business (18 Oct 2016)
Regina Doherty: It would be nice if the Deputy would let me speak. I agree with the Deputy that the allocation of speaking time in the House is not reflective of the proportionate nature of Members' mandates. It is not democratic that political parties with two, five or seven members get exactly the same amount of time to speak as political parties with 23, 44, 50 or 57 members. Time must be allocated...

- Mental Health Services: Motion [Private Members] (5 Oct 2016)
Regina Doherty: The tone of the Sinn Féin motion and the way in which the party has tried to direct this debate are regrettable. What we have been presented with is in stark contrast to the party's actions and activities with regard to the treatment, over many years, of those who have been victims of different activities. It should reflect on how it treats people before it starts pointing a finger as...
