When solicitors are on their work placement, they are not qualified solicitors at that point. Lorraine Clifford Lee: The gender pay gap arises because women experience a loss of salary as they work their way through their careers on account of not being able to avail of promotional opportunities. The delegates say, however, that there are no promotional opportunities in their profession. This is very serious and something I would like to see addressed.
